WORDS FROM THE AUTHOR:

We are each given a garden. Ours is not made with physical hands but is symbolized by our journey through the seasons of life. Our garden is cultivated on how we spend our time in this life. There will be opportunities inside our space in which to find God’s favor, both here and in an everlasting Garden. I invite you to walk with me through my garden, a garden which, at times, is without a hedge.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Karen J. Hopper is a wife, mother, and Nana. In March 1969, she gave her heart to the Lord, and became actively involved in the church in various roles.

Karen and her husband acted as youth leaders for a number of years, which included such youth activities as outreach, prayer, bus ministry, and teaching. They also worked in youth camps for over 35 years in various capacities, including youth camp promotional directors, counselors and recreational activities. For a number of years, Karen served as camp first aid administrator.

Her other roles extended to serving as Junior/Senior High School teacher at a private Christian school. She later acted as director of Ladies Prayer groups.

Karen returned to the private sector in 1986 to employment in the financial management sector, mostly in the water utilities industry. Upon retiring in 2004, the Hoppers moved from a small community along the San Francisco Bay coast to a quaint unincorporated town on California’s Central Coast.

Her passion is writing and she has written and directed several church dramas, particularly Easter productions. She also loves writing poetry. Her blog, A Jewel Divinely Rare, is a mini collection of her thoughts, poetry and praise, while offering glances as to what is in her heart on any given day (and sometimes, perhaps, just on her mind).
